The month is running out quickly yet Arsenal’s only signing so far is a young bloke that’s going to single-handedly win the league in 2020. Thankfully, encouraging reports are emerging that Wenger’s transfer kitty will be increased because the club has acquired a new property deal that is going to make the club earn big bucks. Arsenal is all about their profits, so we’ll have to cross our fingers and see what the M. A. in Economics degree-holder is going to do.

Gervinho’s signing will probably be unveiled in the coming days, but all attention has to be turned to Ewood Park because the Premier League’s most handsome captain (after Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye) has told the Indian suit-wearing chums at the helm of the business affairs of the club that he wants to leave. This has now prompted the club to tell everybody (Arsenal included) that Samba is now available for £12m.

Christopher Samba will be a great signing for Arsenal because he’s more or less the missing ingredient in Wenger’s defensive potion. With Cahill’s name mentioned times without number by the media Vultures, Wenger’s proposed massive transfer war chest will be more than enough to buy both player’s without breaking a sweat.

With Clichy targeted by AS Roma , Wenger may be forced to set his sights on Leighton Baines or Jose Enrique. If he want’s to take the miser’s approach, he could deploy Thomas Vermaelen as a left back but I’ll prefer the Verm to work his magic in the heart of Arsenal’s defense. There are two more months to before the transfer window shuts down so we the gooners are very optimistic about every card Wenger intends to play this period.

The media Vultures have also linked Arsenal with QPR’s Adel Taarabt but I don’t think that the youngest Moroccan international retiree in history will be needed on the flanks that boast of heavyweights like Samir Nasri, Andrey Arshavin and Theo Walcott. Gervinho’s imminent arrival also means that a player like Taarabt may be surplus to requirements.

Switching over to player departures, it seems as if Arsenal’s captain is going to remain at the club because Barcelona’s number one man has declared that he wouldn’t break bank for El Capitan. He says,

I don’t know if Cesc will sign or not. We’ll offer less than €40m and if Arsenal don’t agree, then Cesc will not come. We have €45m for signings, plus money from sales. There is no more money.

This is a club that wants to get money from Aliens living on Planet Mars just to buy Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean had a great season at the Frulli for the Zebrette but if I’m blindfolded and I’m asked to choose between Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez, I will….

Fabregas has more assists in top five leagues in last five seasons than any other player. Dani Alves, Messi and the demigod Xavi fall into the other player class. Paul Scholes had 33 assists in 17 years of service for Manchester United, Fabregas has provided over 80 assists in his seven-year stint with the club.

Now that Barcelona is getting out of the question, Arsene Wenger and the rest of the lot have to show Fabregas their intent by securing at least one trophy in the 2011/12 campaign. Nasri is also a player that has do play over the top for us next season after all his shenanigans this summer. The gooners know that they can rely on Robin van Persie to hit the net 20 times or more but the Flying Dutchman has to do well enough to stay fit.

When I became an Arsenal fan eons ago, I’ve known a lot of names that have been associated with the people running the club behind the scenes. Peter Hill-Wood has always been the chairman as far as I can remember. Names like David Dein, Ken Friar and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith are now history but they can never be forgotten. Danny Frizman is also another icon that passed away a few months ago.

The struggle for the fulltime ownership of Arsenal Football Club has been between Stan Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov. Mr. Kroenke bought two-thirds of the club’s shares and a takeover bid seemed on the cards but the tables have been turned a bit because Alisher Usmanov has increased his stake at the club to 29% . This means that Kroenke and the Uzbek are involved in a two-horse race to rule Arsenal.

Arsenal is the only club that dropped to fourth place in a two-horse race but I don’t think that the same principle may be applied on both billionaires. Usmanov has been on the spotlight recently for criticizing the board for their part in Arsenal’s trophy drought but I feel that he still has the club’s best interests in his heart like Mr. Kroenke, Arsene Wenger and enigma106. 🙂

The tweet of the day goes to WengerBoy1

@WengerBoy1: Villas-Boas’ league record at Chelsea 2011/12: W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-W-D-Fired

This was in the wake of the news that Porto’s treble-winning manager has resigned from his position as the manager of the club.

Chelsea’s U.S.S.R. dictator is a chairman that changes managers when he’s bored so Villas-Boas should put it at the back of his head that if he wins the treble then goes trophyless the next season, he’s ass is going to be fired.

That’s his problem though.

Arsene Wenger represents continuity, trust and commitment.

It’s not easy devoting 15 years of your illustrious life working for a great football club, I must confess that I haven’t coached Arsenal in Football Manager for 15 FM game years.

Arsene Wenger deserves a trophy for all the hard work he has put in Arsenal Football Club.

I really hope that he gets it right next season.

In Arsene We Trust.

if gervinho news comes out in the nxt few days that would be great. after that all i want to hear is how Arsene will work out the backline. samba wanting to leave BB is good news. if cayhill does the same, coyle will have no other option but to negotiate. … 13-15 mill would probably be too high a valuation ,but with only a month and half left for our preseason friendlies, we will get in there and make a deal..

You know I’m a Tarbaat fan but you’re right he would be surplus to what we need if everyone stays. David Dein’s brilliance is missed every day. He was behind signing all of the best players in our wonderful club’s history. Oh yea and he signed some random guy from Japan that nobody wanted to manage the team… and if it weren’t for that I wouldn’t close every comment with InArseneWeTrust

Thanks Andy but Taarabt plays in a position occupied by many Gunners. I don’t see him coming though
