Alexis Sanchez

After a great outing against Benfica, the Gunners failed to replicate that form against a resilient AS Monaco side, that got the goal that was enough to hand the Emirates Cup to Valencia. Gooner Daily reviews the performances of the players on the night,

DEFENSE

Szczesny (6) was relatively untroubled but he had no chance in Hell to catch that close-range header from Radamel Falcao.

Debuchy (7) was a constant threat on the right and he put up a good showing in his first Arsenal performance.

Koscielny (7) was his usual dominant self in the heart of the Arsenal rearguard.

Chambers (7) made some inch-perfect tackles and was assured in possession. He’s a great one for the future.

Monreal (5) struggled a bit on the left and his wing was always exposed.

MIDFIELD

Arteta (6) tried to stabilize things in midfield but there were times he was found wanting.

Ramsey (6) didn’t influence the game as he would have liked.

Wilshere (7) was always trying to make things happen and spread a lot of carefully-threaded passes.

ATTACK

Cazorla (6) probed a couple of times in the course of the game but he didn’t make the impact he would have liked.

Sanchez (7) was inventive with the ball and he tried to make his mark on the pitch. Didn’t do badly as the lone striker when he was afforded the chance.

Giroud (4) looked clearly out of sorts and he was very sloppy as well.

SUBSTITUTES

Miquel (5) struggled in center back, but did well to get a card from a cynical challenge or it would have been curtains.

Zelalem (7) threaded a sexy through ball to Akpom that was meant to have resulted in a penalty.

Flamini (6) wasted no time in getting a booking. He sure loves a booking, doesn’t he?

Akpom (7) showed his pace to win what was meant to be a penalty but thanks to poor officiating it was ruled as a free kick.

Bellerin (N/A) didn’t play long enough to get a rating.

Sayonara.

Your are serious about 8 for Wilshere? You may be Wilshire family,if you watched the game you should remember the needles fouls that cost the goal and I watch the game he was awful he deserve a 5 and I’m being really nice to him.
