Many Arsenal fans will be elated with the way their darling team has performed in recent weeks, but there was a night everything went wrong for the club. Olivier Giroud remains one of the hottest strikers in Europe but on the night, he had a pathetic outing in front of an expectant crowd as the Gunners locked horns with AS Monaco at the Emirates. The Gunners put on a spirited performance in the second leg but the damage done in the first leg was just too much, as a 2-0 away win wasn’t still enough to hand Arsene Wenger’s men a place in tonight’s quarterfinals.
But enough about Arsenal already. There’s still a lot to look forward too, especially if you’re a Nigerian or from the blessed continent of Africa. MasterCard is one of the official sponsors of the UEFA Champions League and the company has launched a one of a kind campaign that will see three children escort the players of the Champions League onto the field, at one of the semifinals matches and at the final in Berlin.
Just imagine your son or daughter holding hands with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and the rest of the superstars that makes this competition glitter. Isn’t that something to be proud about?
So the million dollar question will be – how can MasterCard make this happen? It’s actually as simple as A, B, C.
- Film your child performing a goal celebration
- Upload the video to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #MasterCardNigeria or upload it directly to MasterCard’s Facebook wall
- Win flight, accommodation, hospitality, tickets to the UEFA Champions League Final Berlin 2015 or semi-final for one child and one parent, player escort experience & much more!
Like every competition, there are some ground rules. Listed below are the eligibility criteria.
- Child’s Age: Between seven to nine years old.
- Height: Between 1.05 meters to 1.35 meters
Here are the terms and conditions for the competition.
There are so many celebrations in football and you as an avid watcher of the sport should be able to guide your child into a celebration that can get him / her to Europe. Feel free to visit the MasterCard Facebook Page for more information.
This is going to be a huge opportunity for parents and their kids to see them going onto the field with football stars.
Worth a thought!
