Arsene Wenger

So the club has officially confirmed that Arsene Wenger would remain at the helm of affairs at the club for another two years. Arseblog wrote a rather emotional piece on the subject and trust me, it’s worth a read.

Gooner Daily has decided to share what some fans think about the manager extending his stay with the club and it’s really interesting!

Mayowa Oni,

He has signed, get behind him and support his team. Hopefully it pays off.

Ogbonna Nwodo,

Glad the right decision was made under immense pressure from all angles. Now watch Arsenal win the premier league in the 2017/2018 season and the UCL in 2018/2019. Wenger’s vision is about to ripen before our very eyes.

Anayo Nwosu,

He has signed and we will still support the team. What I would like to see is a change in approach. This is one of the biggest summers of his career. He needs to get the backing of the fans by making the right moves especially in the transfer market. We can’t afford to lose another opening game of the EPL again, unless the fans could get agitated again. We have to prepare well, no major tournament this summer apart from Confederations cup that’s probably about a week or so; and Alexis is likely to be the only one participating. Keeping Alexis and Ozil at Arsenal is also very important. The Arsenal fans would want to see something change. Let the summer begin. We Move!!!

Obinna Edeh,

Boss had just won the FA cup and that presented a perfect opportunity to leave but in life, you don’t run away when a select group of people abuse and bully you. I am delighted that he has put pen to paper and know that more success is on the way. It’s been three FA cups in four years and that’s impressive considering the current soccer market climate and how Arsenal are run. Hopefully Arsene’s team finds the consistency needed at the right time to go on a run and bring more success to the Club. Welcome back Boss

Chuks Nwandu,

Fair enough. Let’s make some effectual changes though instead of doing the same thing every season before changing tack and trying to catch the bus by May.

Afolabi Popoola,

Like I always say, you know real fighters when the chips are down. Arsene has shown time and again that he does not get bullied by people or events around him but draws inspiration from them all. With his current situation, knowing fully well that every single step would be brought to spotlight and dissected, I am sure he is more motivated right now than anyone we bring in. Remember, two things motivate a man, interest and fear. For Arsene Wenger, he’s got both right now. I am for him, are you?

Wilson Dike,

We need to make changes cos if we ride the same way we have been doing for the past years, our premier league outcome would remain the same

Bidemi Yaqoob,

Congrats Wenger on the new contract. But seriously did anyone think wenger was going to be replaced after the club basically boxe!d itself by not sorting out this manager issue on time. That might have affected our season, but surely reduced the possible replacements. I however believe wenger can still do a good job, especially after that performance against the Champions The club needs a total change of body language in everything (contracts management , signings, mentality, training methods, structure, fans support… Etc)

Effiong Ekpenyong,

Great to hear that the manager is staying on for 2 more years. He could have left on a great note winning the FA Cup in style but he has decided to stay and as always I will continue to support the Arsenal and the personnel that are associated with us. Can’t wait for the new season to begin because I have got great hopes for us this season. #COYG

Anton Wilson,

At the end the decision is made, wenger remains and I respect him, most managers would of walked because of the pressure and I truly thought he would, the planes and banners, results and then a formation change gave hope! We won the cup, new season coming

Cav Gunner,

Respect the man. Would love for him to win another PL title. But can’t see it happening. He’s holding us back at the moment and I’m not saying we’ll be successful straight after he leaves. But we need a change, a new setup, new direction for future

Chukwodobe,

Two more years of misery, look at how spurs have grown and its gonna be a lot difficult, am happy we dint get the CL ticket

Temitayo Alabi,

Terrible decision imo.

I am Albert,

IMO, it’s really a no brainer. The team didn’t retrogress rather transition in the midfield affected the team balance because of the absence of Santi Cazorla but Wenger got it right with the new formation and the Ramsey – Xhaka

I always knew he was gonna sign. I dont like it one bit but there is nothing I can do about it. I think he should have gone on a high. The best FA cup record is no small feat. However, he has made that choice. I wish us all the best in the coming season. Hopefully the past 6 months has given the club enough reason to re-evaluate our methods and deliver more on the field results. My message to the fans is get behind the team, hopefully your voices have been heard. We will see in the coming months.
