With the dust settling from the enthralling win over Manchester United last weekend, Arsenal is set to see 16 of its first team players leaving London to several locations in the world for some international duty. Starting with Brazil, all three Gabriels, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Magalhaes have been called up by the Brazil head coach, Fernando Diniz, for the World Cup qualification double header against Bolivia and Peru.

Gabriel Magalhaes missed the football mundial in Qatar late last year, but it was attributed to the birth of his child, rather than being intentionally left out by the gaffer, Tite, who could only take them to a quarterfinal berth against Croatia before crashing out. Another player that has gained a call up was Gabriel Jesus, who was initially left out of the squad due to his fitness issues, but the unpleasant allegations surrounding Manchester United’s Antony saw him dropped from the team to accommodate Gabriel Jesus. Gabriel Martinelli was an automatic choice with the winger being in very good form, so it only made sense to give him a call up.

Speaking of good form, Eddie Nketiah has earned a call up to the Three Lions squad following a fantastic start to the new campaign. Nketiah turned down a chance to represent the country of his parents, Ghana, prior to the World Cup, but he, alongside the regulars, Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka will be part of the England squad that would take on Oleksandr Zinchenko’s Ukraine in a Euros qualifier, and Kieran Tierney’s Scotland in a friendly. 

David Raya hasn’t gotten any game time since his loan move from Brentford, but he was called up by Luis de la Fuente for Spain’s Euro qualifiers against Georgia and Cyprus. I’d suspect that Raya would spend some more time on the bench, with Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Simon being Spain’s first choice between the sticks.

Club captain, Martin Odegaard, has been called up by his Viking nation, Norway, for a friendly against Jordan and a Euros qualifier against Georgia. We trust Odegaard to supply Erling Haaland with the firepower to continue his insane scoring run with Norway, as he currently has 24 goals in 25 games for his country.

William Saliba received a call up from France for the Euros qualifier against Ireland and a friendly with Kai Havertz’s Germany. Prior to taking on France, Havertz and his nation will be hoping to end the rot with a friendly against Takehiro Tomiyasu’s Japan. Germany has lost three of their last four international outings, and will be hoping for an improvement this time. After taking on Germany, Tomiyasu and his Blue Samurai will play Turkey.

Elsewhere, Jakub Kiwior will be joining the Poland team for two vital Euros qualifiers against minnows, Faroe Islands and Albania, while Leandro Trossard will be part of the Belgian squad taking on Azerbaijan and Estonia who would have Karl Hein in goal. 

The games will take place between Thursday, September 7th and Wednesday, September 13th, so Gooner Daily will be providing updates on player performances and will hopefully not make any injury updates like Thomas Partey.
