Gabriel Magalhães happy with three points against Shakhtar

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães is delighted that the team bounced back from the weekend’s loss to Bournemouth.

The Gunners kept their first clean sheet in three games on Tuesday night. Mikel Arteta had previously complained after the team failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three Premier League games against Southampton, Leicester and Bournemouth.

The win is a great result as the team prepare to take on league leaders Liverpool this weekend. The Reds have won seven of their eight league games under Arne Slot.

Arsenal now have seven points in the Champions League after wins over Shakhtar and Paris Saint-Germain. The gunners had to keep out the Ukraine side in the last 20 minutes of the game to secure a result.

Gabriel believes the win at home was a very important one:

“It was a difficult game, (but) we take the three points. We are happy to play at home in front of our fans. To be able to give this for them is good for us and the club.

“We worked very hard, but of course it’s good to keep a clean sheet and take all three points. We are so happy.”

“Everyone organises!” he said in the post match interview to Arsenal.com . “Everyone needs to talk to adapt – we did very well and kept a clean sheet.”

Shakhtar pushed forward late in the second half, but failed to score a goal. The Ukraine side’s head coach Marino Pusic believes his team should have gotten something from the game.

Arsenal are following Mikel Arteta’s words

After the loss to Bournemouth, the Gunners boss said that the way to bounce back from the shock defeat is to start winning games:

“The desire is there, we want to desperately play these kinds of matches, and we know the atmosphere is going to be terrific tomorrow night so let’s produce that and earn the right to win the game.

“The context is that we have lost one game in six months. Ok, now we have to win again with the context that we have lost for the first time in six months, so let’s show it.

“Defeat is part of the game, part of the sport. It happened in very specific conditions as well. Let’s move on, take that pain that we still have in the tummy and use it for tomorrow night.”

Arsenal have their chance to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Liverpool this weekend.
