Arsenal has failed to score in three of their last four games, which shows their profligacy and lack of quality in front of goal.
The latest loss from Mikel Arteta’s men in the Champions League clash against Internazionale showed how badly Arsenal needs a quality center forward in front of goal. Arsenal has relied heavily on Kai Havertz to come up with the goods in front of goal, with Gabriel Jesus flattering to deceive and with only one goal in his last 25 games, it’s evident that Arsenal need to do better than him in their attack.
One striker that has been on the prowl is Viktor Gyokeres that has been on absolute fire, with his latest act being an unprecedented hat-trick in Sporting CP’s demolition of Manchester City in the Champions League.
Arsenal favorites to sign Viktor Gyokeres
With Ruben Amorim leaving Sporting CP to Manchester United, it was firmly believed that he would sign his star striker, Viktor Gyokeres, with him in the January transfer window. Gyokeres was brought into the limelight by Amorim after he signed him for a meager 15 million pounds from Coventry City last season, and in 67 games for Sporting CP, the Swedish hotshot has smashed in 66 goals. So good that he has more goals than Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe in the calendar year.
Arsenal has been handed a huge boost regarding the signing of Gyokeres with the latest information surfacing that despite his well-known affections for Ruben Amorim, he would want to continue playing Champions League football, which is something Manchester United can not offer at the moment.
Following their draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford, Manchester United are currently 13th place in the Premier League and 22nd place in the Europa League Group Phase, which further diminishes their chances of featuring in Europe’s elite competition.
