Tottenham Preview: An Old Rivalry Renewed

Arsenal and Tottenham have played each other so many times and the games are always a heated affair because of the rivalry between both sides and over the years, there have been fair share of drama.

Last season, Tottenham arrived at the Emirates and earned themselves a point with a brace from their skipper, Heung-Min Son, no thanks to Jorginho’s unprecedented error in the second half, but the stakes were a lot more higher in the second leg, with Arsenal chasing Manchester City for the league with the knowledge that any result besides a win would be unacceptable.

What we got on the day was control in the first half and chaos in the second, but Arsenal got what they wanted – three points at the home of Tottenham and the battle continued deep into the final day. Wounds have been licked and lessons have been learned, so here we are again, facing a North London Derby that would see us lock horns with the enemy with the aim of remaining in the upper echelons of the table being the endgame.

Tottenham commenced their campaign in typical Tottenham fashion, dropping points against newly-promoted Leicester before smashing Everton all over the place. Their last Premier League clash saw Ange Postecoglou’s side visit St. James’ Park to take on Newcastle and they lost. However, when Arsenal comes to town, their spirit and attitude are different and we need to expect a stormer from them. At least, there would be no Harry Kane to terrorize us as he always did.
