5 Bold Predictions for Manchester City vs. Arsenal

Arsenal is scheduled to visit the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City, which will be one of their toughest encounters this season. Mikel Arteta’s men battled hard to earn a narrow win over Tottenham last weekend, and they will be locking horns against the side that has denied their quest for a Premier League win for the past two seasons.

Without further ado, here are some bold predictions for Manchester City vs. Arsenal.

Erling Braut Haaland will Blank

The last time Arsenal visited the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City, Haaland struggled to make an impact on the game. He was harried consistently by Gabriel and William Saliba and didn’t get any breathing space.

Despite the fact that Haaland has been in imperious form scoring nine goals in a handful of matches, I expect him to blank against Arsenal on Sunday.

Expect Some Drama from the Referee

It has been confirmed that Michael Oliver will be the man with the whistle when Arsenal visit the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City. The last time Oliver officiated an Arsenal vs. Manchester City game, he failed to give Mateo Kovacic an early bath after his studs up challenge on Martin Odegaard, and I’m sure to expect more drama from Oliver on Sunday.

The refs have had a bad rap sheet in recent campaigns with Chris Kavanagh sending Declan Rice off for an issue he could have resolved with a ticking off.

Bukayo Saka Would be Anonymous

Saka is Arsenal’s talisman and has been heavily influential for the club, leading the charge in the final third. However, I believe that Saka will struggle to influence the game as much as he would like and would eventually be replaced by Raheem Sterling.

There Would be a Sucker Punch to Decide the Game

Clashes between Manchester City and Arsenal have been cagey affairs in recent season, especially with the Gunners’ improved defensive output. However, the game would be decided with a sucker punch for either of the sides to settle the contest.

Kevin de Bruyne Would Start the Game

Kevin de Bruyne started the midweek clash against Internazionale and was substituted for Ilkay Gundogan at the start of the second half. It is believed that he had a muscle injury and was a major doubt for the game. Pep Guardiola was very vague in his press conference but when you consider the magnitude of this clash, I’d expect KDB to start.
