Arsenal 4-2 Leicester: Player Ratings

Following the late dropped points against Manchester City, Arsenal left it really late to get all three points against Leicester City.

Despite Mikel Arteta being very cryptic in his pre-match press conference, David Raya was passed fit to feature in the side, but Ben White wasn’t available for selection. Without further ado, here are the Gooner Daily player ratings.

Defense

David Raya – Was relatively untested and was blameless for both goals conceded. (6)

Jurrien Timber – Provided some attacking impetus on the right, supporting Bukayo Saka. (6)

Gabriel – Was a constant threat from set pieces and made himself available to support the attack when Arsenal chased the game. (7)

William Saliba – Was seen after the game removing Jamie Vardy from his pocket. (8)

Riccardo Calafiori – Worked well with Gabriel Martinelli on the left and can consider himself lucky to remain on the pitch after making a cynical challenge despite picking up a booking. (6)

Midfield

Thomas Partey – Looked out of sorts in midfield and turning into a liability for the first team. Mikel Merino can’t come soon enough. (6)

Declan Rice – Worked hard to support the team in the box-to-box role and showed great anticipation to create a big chance to Leandro Trossard that was spurned. (7)

Leandro Trossard – Was very influential in the final third, scoring a goal in the first half and playing a massive role in the effort that sent the Emirates to raptures late on. (9)

Forwards

Gabriel Martinelli – Had a great game by his fair standards, scoring his first goal since March 2024, as well as a good assist for Trossard’s goal. (8)

Bukayo Saka – Wasn’t an influential game for the Arsenal talisman, but the quality of his crossing from corners was exceptional. (7)

Kai Havertz – Must have been gutted for Leicester’s first goal that deflected off him, but his perseverance saw him score the match clincher at the death. (7)

Substitutes

Raheem Sterling – Didn’t contribute much on the attacking third. (6)

Ethan Nwaneri – Showed great confidence to provide support to the attack from his introduction. (6)

Gabriel Jesus – Didn’t play long enough to get a rating.
