Arsenal No.9 Kai Havertz is set to miss the October international break clashes for Germany. This comes in courtesy of a knee injury faced by the German international.
Kai Havertz will miss the upcoming international matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands due to knee problems. National coach Julian Nagelsmann nominated Jonathan Burkardt in Havertz’s place. Get well soon, Kai! We look forward to seeing you, Jonathan!
This was the statement released by the German Football Federation following Havertz’s untimely injury. The situation isn’t grim though as the striker is expected to return for Arsenal’s match against Bournemouth after the international break.
Nothing is set in stone though as The Gunners’ medical staff is yet to assess the injury. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Arsenal medical staff will do the needful in the upcoming days.
Arsenal has a busy schedule after their return on 19th October. The Gunners will play a total of seven matches in just three weeks.
Four of the seven clashes are in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta’s men remain unbeaten in the English top flight and will hope to continue this streak after the international break.
Two Champions League fixtures are also in the mix. The Gunners will host Shakhtar Donetsk at home and travel to Italy for the match against Inter Milan.
Kai Havertz’s Arsenal journey so far
Havertz has grown a lot since he arrived at the Emirates Stadium last season. Kai has already scored six goals in ten appearances for Arsenal this season.
The No.9 has also registered an assist in the 2-0 home win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The striker has already cemented himself in the starting XI at Arsenal in just one season.
The German international has also started 100% of all the games for Arsenal this season playing every minute of football alongside his teammates.
This stat proves the striker’s credibility and Mikel Arteta’s belief. Havertz has scored 20 goals for Arsenal so far and his potential says that he won’t stop.
Having arrived at Arsenal from arch-rivals Chelsea, Havertz remains an ambiguous figure in the hearts of Chelsea fans. His stint with the club was underwhelming, unlike the talent he displayed during his time at Bayer Leverkusen.
Havertz managed to score only 32 goals for Chelsea in 139 appearances. His time at Stamford Bridge ended after he decided to switch to the Red Side of London.
Germany has bought in Jonathan Burkardt to replace Havertz. There is a player to fill in his role at the Nations League but doing it at his calibre remains doubtful.
