Thoughts on Bukayo Saka’s Injury Against Greece

Arsenal talisman, Bukayo Saka, hobbled off at the 52nd minute in England’s shock 2-1 loss to Greece.

Saka is usually one that plays 90 minutes and it was a concern seeing him struggle in the game, as well as getting medical attention. The Arsenal winger was seen walking off normally after the game, so I’m hopeful that he’d be on his way to London Colney and have nothing to do with the Finland game this weekend.

Arsenal has been a casualty of the last international break with Martin Odegaard suffering a devastating ankle injury that has kept him out of the side for over a month, and things have gone awry, as it has been reported that the Arsenal captain suffered a setback, and is now going to be out till December 2024.

Will Saka be fit for the Bournemouth game?

Arsenal will be sweating over the fitness of a key player like Saka ahead of the all-important clash against Bournemouth next weekend, so I expect common sense to prevail with Lee Carsley releasing Saka off his England duties to allow him return to the physios at London Colney. In terms of depth, England has the likes of Phil Foden and Noni Madueke to call upon, and I’m sure they will be decent enough to get a result against Finland without Saka.
