Chelsea Set £120m Price Tag As Enzo Fernandez Pushes For Real Madrid Exit

Chelsea are prepared to sell Enzo Fernandez this summer if they receive an offer of £120million for the midfielder, football.london reported.

The Blues want to keep Fernandez but will not stand in his way should that asking price be met by an interested club this summer.

Chelsea paid Benfica £106.7million for Fernandez in 2023, a British transfer record at the time, and want to make a healthy profit on any sale.

Real Madrid are understood to be the primary destination of interest for the 25-year-old, who wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Manchester City are also keen on Fernandez, though nothing is advancing on that front despite Enzo Maresca agreeing a deal to take charge at the club.

Fernandez publicly flirted with a move to Real Madrid during the March international break, saying he would love to live in the Spanish capital one day.

Those comments did not go down well with Chelsea, and manager Liam Rosenior made the decision to ban the Argentina international for two matches.

His agent Javier Pastore described the ban as “completely unfair” in an interview at the start of April and threatened Chelsea that his client would seek a move elsewhere if a new contract could not be agreed.

Pastore, a former Argentina international himself, confirmed that Fernandez’s entourage had opened negotiations with Chelsea “over December/January” but failed to find common ground over fresh terms.

Fernandez believes he should be earning significantly more than he currently does given his importance to the squad throughout the campaign.

The midfielder finished the 2025/26 season with 15 goals and seven assists in all competitions, underlining his value to the team from a central midfield position.

Sources believe the saga began when Fernandez was said to be extremely disappointed following Enzo Maresca’s departure from Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Day.

Chelsea were reportedly furious when Pastore went public with his message, escalating what had already become a difficult situation between club and player.

Sunday’s defeat to Sunderland, in which Fernandez was spotted waving towards the away supporters, could prove to be his final appearance for the club.
