Paris Saint-Germain Confirm Ousmane Dembele And Achraf Hakimi In Squad For Champions League Final Against Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain have named their travelling squad for Saturday’s Champions League final against Arsenal in Hungary.

Both Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi have been included despite injury concerns hanging over the pair heading into the showpiece occasion.

Hakimi has been absent since suffering a hamstring injury during the first leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich earlier in the competition.

Dembele picked up a problem during PSG’s final Ligue 1 match of the season against Paris FC, adding further concern to the French club’s preparations.

The inclusion of both players in the travelling squad suggests they will be available to PSG manager Luis Enrique for the final.

Hakimi scored the opening goal in last season’s final as PSG ran out 5-0 winners over Inter Milan to claim the trophy.

Arsenal will be looking to prevent PSG from defending their title, having lifted the Premier League trophy less than a week ago.

PSG winger Bradley Barcola issued a warning to Arsenal ahead of the final, speaking with confidence about his side’s collective approach to the game.

“It’s a great honour to be playing in a second final,” Barcola told club media, ahead of the 5pm kick-off on Saturday.

“We’re going to do everything we can to win it,” he continued, adding that the squad were focused on building confidence before the match.

“I really think it’s our collective strength. The fact that we play together, attack together and defend together. We really play as a team, and that’s our greatest strength right now.”

Arsenal face a PSG side that knocked them out of the same competition at the semi-final stage last season, with the Ligue 1 club winning 3-1 on aggregate.

Goals from Fabian Ruiz and Hakimi in the second leg of that tie were enough to send PSG through to the final at Arsenal’s expense.

Arsenal also received positive injury news of their own, with full-back Jurrien Timber included in their squad after returning to training this week.

Timber has been sidelined since March following a hamstring injury sustained in the match against Everton, missing 14 games across all competitions in that time.

PSG’s confirmed squad features goalkeepers Chevalier, Safonov and Renato Marin, with Marquinhos, Hakimi and Nuno Mendes among the defenders named in the group.
