Victor Wembanyama Delivers Historic Performance To Force Western Conference Finals Game 7

Victor Wembanyama refused to let the San Antonio Spurs’ season end on Thursday night, producing one of the most memorable performances in franchise playoff history.

The Spurs defeated the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder 118-91 in Game 6, tying the series and setting up a decisive Game 7.

Wembanyama became the first player in Spurs franchise history to record 25 or more points, at least 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in an elimination game.

He finished with 28 points, shooting 10-of-21 from the field and connecting on 4-of-9 attempts from three-point range during the commanding victory.

Wembanyama also contributed 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks in a dominant all-around display against the Thunder.

After posting 19 points in the second-round series-clinching game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Wembanyama has scored at least 20 points in every Western Conference Finals game.

San Antonio now has a genuine opportunity to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014 if Wembanyama can deliver another dominant showing in Game 7.

A victory would cap the best season of Wembanyama’s three-year career, with a conference title also bringing a series MVP trophy to accompany his regular season Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Stephon Castle was pictured reacting alongside Wembanyama during Game 6, with the two players sharing in the celebrations after securing the crucial win.

Game 7 tips off at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday night at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, with everything on the line for both franchises.
