Leandro Trossard Arsenal Exit Confirmed As Medical Booked With Christos Tzolis Identified As Replacement

>

Arsenal are set to lose Belgian winger Leandro Trossard after the 31-year-old agreed to join Turkish club Besiktas in a deal worth €20million.

The fee between Arsenal and Besiktas was agreed earlier this month, with Trossard taking time to weigh up his options following Belgium’s elimination from the World Cup.

Having spent recent weeks representing his country on the international stage, the former Brighton star has now made his decision on his next destination.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Trossard will travel to Istanbul on Tuesday to complete a medical and finalise his switch to the Turkish giants.

Given that Trossard is 31 and has just 12 months remaining on his Emirates Stadium contract, Arsenal have secured a very favourable outcome from the transfer.

The Premier League champions had already been expected to strengthen out wide, and Trossard’s departure opens the door for at least one new arrival in that position.

Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis has already been identified as a potential replacement, with Arsenal first exploring a deal for the 24-year-old back in June following another strong campaign in Belgium.

Tzolis could reportedly cost in the region of £34million despite having three years remaining on his current contract at the Belgian club.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is set to remain a target if the Tzolis deal is completed, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola also attracting interest from those at Arsenal.

Arsenal have already confirmed two incoming transfers this summer, with Piero Hincapie’s loan move made permanent and Illan Meslier joining as a free agent after leaving Leeds United.

Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez has also been mentioned as a target, while Bournemouth teenage sensation Eli Junior Kroupi is on Arsenal’s radar, with rivals Tottenham also reportedly interested in the Frenchman.

On the outgoing side, Ben White has been attracting interest, while Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Martinelli, and Christian Norgaard could be sold to help raise funds for further recruitment.

Captain Martin Odegaard was the subject of exit rumours, but the Norwegian remains an important part of Mikel Arteta’s squad despite an injury-ravaged campaign.

Odegaard showed his quality during Norway’s impressive run to the World Cup semi-finals before their elimination at the hands of England.

Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, and William Saliba are among those expected to report late for pre-season following their own extended World Cup campaigns.
