Huddersfield Town visit the Emirates: 5th round please……

Sunday. The day we all activate our “holy mode” and go to church. Those that won’t go will decide to still keep it holy in their own special way. Sundays are the days the best football matches are played in England. Rival clashes, derbies, you name it.

Arsenal play Huddersfield Town this afternoon knowing that a victory would catapult them to the 5th round. The game against Huddersfield Town has a rich vein of history because Arsenal’s first major trophy winner Sir Herbert Chapman won the FA Cup final in 1930 against the same opposition. The irony of it all was that he joined Arsenal from Huddersfield Town.

Like Ipswich and Leeds before them, Huddersfield Town is a “lower” division outfit.
League One to be exact. We have played 4 games against lower division sides this season. We’ve won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1.

Huddersfield Town are doing well in League One and are in a good position to enter the npower Championship next season.

Arsenal has played so many games in this grueling month of January. In their eight games played, they have conceded just three times and have scored 16 goals – including three in each of their last four games. The three goals have been conceded in the cup competitions. Their last four league games have produced four clean sheets.

For the playing squad, Manuel Almunia seems likely to start his first game since September. Szszsz might just sit out this game because Everton come around on Tuesday. Sagna was concussed against Ipswich so Emmanuel Eboue will come in. Kieran Gibbs will also replace Clichy for today’s game. Sebastien “Squisha” Squillaci will come in for either Johan Djourou or Laurent Koscielny. I feel Djourou will sit in the dugout today.

Denilson will get another chance to strut his stuff. Diaby might also get a chance to play today. Song and the Whizkhid can sit on the bench today. Rosicky is back from exile so I believe that he’ll wear the captain’s armband this afternoon.

The attacking trio will be shuffled today. Marouane Chamakh will spearhead the attack this afternoon. Andrei “Hotty” Arshavin will be deployed on the left wing today. Despite not playing too well in the last game, he made 2 assists. AW the Alchemist believes that he’ll come good so let’s hope that he puts up a decent performance. He’s in dire need of a goal. Maybe that might be the “lift” he needs. Nicklas “Wald Bezt” Bendtner will occupy the final right wing slot. I don’t see him complaining about the position again. That goal against Ipswich will spur him on to get more attempts at goal so he might drift to the central position.

My expected lineup should be

Almunia
Gibbs-Squisha-Koscielny-Eboue
Denilson-Rosicky-Diabytes
Hotty-Chamakh-Bendtner

AW the Alchemist has played “lower division” sides 24 times in the FA Cup. He has triumphed 24 times.

Please give us the 25th……..besides, it will take us to the “5th” round.

Enjoy the game wherever you are
