The Sun in the city of Owerri is very unforgiving. It’s time for the international games to provide some players with their first caps, others with their 100th. Nigeria’s new manager will get his first game in charge after doing well in junior levels.
From the Arsenal point of view, the most “interesting” friendly of note will be the match between Denmark and England.
Club captain, Cesc “El Capitan” Fabregas and his vice, rVp will stay at home and watch their national teams play their friendly games. Aaron Ramsey will also be missing in action for Wales. Johan “Injourou” Djourou will also be out with his injury.
El Capitan will miss out on Spain’s revenge mission against Portugal. After winning the World Cup, del Bosque thought that his BarcAlien squad would win every game forever. Portugal’s 4-0 thumping was highly welcome. rVp is suffering from the flu so he will spend quality time with his family while he waits for the game against Wolves.
Johan Djourou’s injury is not as bad as we feared. This tweet says it all
“@JohanDjourou: Hello. Thanks for the support. I was hit on my knee on saturday as you saw it. I’m feeling better. For more infos check arsenal.com. Cheers”
Nicklas Bendtner is the star striker of the Danish national team. He’s also our most vocal striker. We all know about his self-confidence and cocky nature.
He has been a very loyal player to the club but he chips in tales of leaving the club once in a while. He won the Arsenal goal of the Month award for that amazing goal against Ipswich in the Carling Spoon semis.
He says,”I am happy to be an Arsenal player but, of course, I must play more. I mean that I’m good enough to be in the line-up. I will play this season to the end as an Arsenal player and then make a decision on my status in the summer. If I’m still happy then I will stay. Otherwise, we must see what will happen”.
Nicklas Bendtner is a very good player but he has to understand that there’s no way in Hell that he can displace rVp. He knows that even if he’ll be deployed in the right wing, he can drift into the middle and create some scoring chances for himself. With Chamakh in the squad, Nick will have to stop talking too much to the media Vultures and start putting up performances that will make AW the Alchemist think a lot.
He can send a “message” to AW the Alchemist by scoring a hattrick against England.
Here’s to a speedy recovery for Djourou, Song, Denilson and long term absentee Vermaelen.
The BarcAliens come to Mother Emirates Earth in 8 days time.
