When Arsenal sold Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham, it was evident that the Gunners had lost a great player but it was understandable as the club could not give him the gametime he wanted.
The player himself was frustrated with the paucity of chances at the club,
“I just want to be on the pitch. This was the hardest season of my career.
“It was tough, but we were in a title race and I understand the manager isn’t going to change the team if we’re winning every game”.
“I just tried to stay positive and train as well as I could. The other players and Mikel [Arteta] were great with me, kept me feeling connected. But it was tough, a long season. I won’t lie.”
Smith Rowe scored two goals for Fulham in preseason and endured a tough debut at Old Trafford before opening his Premier League account for his new club against Leicester. In Fulham’s last match against West Ham, Smith Rowe grabbed an excellent assist to Raul Jimenez, after receiving a great pass from his fellow Hale End graduate, Alex Iwobi.
Hale End Graduates on Fire Against Newcastle
Emile Smith Rowe, Alex Iwobi and Reiss Nelson, who’s currently on loan at Fulham, took center stage in Fulham’s impressive win over Newcastle this evening, ending the Magpies unbeaten start to the season. Raul Jimenez started ahead of Ricardo Muniz again grabbed the opener, and Smith Rowe worked well with Iwobi to toe poke the second, even though Nick Pope could have done better with his attempted save.
Ashley Barnes pulled one back for Newcastle, but Nelson scored the goal that sealed the contest.
