Arsenal legend Freddie Ljunberg thinks that Alexander Isak would be better off at Arsenal amidst stalled talks for a new contract. The Gunners have been on the lookout for a striker but bad luck rendered their pursuit fruitless last summer.
Luckily for Mikel Arteta, Kai Havertz has started to unlock his potential this season. However, Gabriel Jesus remains dormant with no goal contributions in 8 appearances.
The North Londoners weren’t confident of challenging for the title with no serious goal-scoring threat at the helm. Mikel Arteta wants someone who can find the back of the net like Erling Haaland or Mohamed Salah.
Although a surge in Havertz’s form has added an unexpected twist to the story, Arteta would like to have a better striker or a top contender for the position.
The Spanish manager emphasizes a lot on internal competition which helps keep the players in top form. The same was seen when the Spaniard bought David Raya which has worked out in The Gunners’ best interests.
It was recently reported that PSG had offered Randal Kolo Muani to Arsenal and various other Premier League clubs. However, it is to be seen whether The Gunners move forward with the offer if another 25-year-old striker is on the move.
Arsenal legend Freddie Ljunberg suggests a move to the Emirates amidst stalled talks
His top qualities are so extremely special that I think he can be even better. He could go all the way up to the absolute top because of his speed, fine finishing and understanding of the game.
Newcastle is a good club. There is nothing wrong with that. But at some point I hope he goes to Arsenal, Chelsea or City where he can pour in goals. That’s what I hope.

In an interview with Swedish newspaper Expessen, Ljunberg revealed that he’d want fellow Swedsman Alexander Isak to move to a bigger club.
As a coach, he appreciated the 25-year-old’s top qualities. The former Arsenal star mentioned that Isak had a superpower—a quality he looks for in each player.
This is a player for whom I want things to go so incredibly well. He seems so humble and down to earth, and it feels like he just wants to work hard and play football.
I really hope he can take the next step. I like Isak. He is amazing when he plays at his highest level. He has these super top qualities that I, as a coach, look for.
I want players who have some super power, then you can put them in special situations and know that they will make a difference.
