Ex-Gunner, Chido Obi-Martin, Scores 15-Minute Hat-Trick

Manchester United youngster, Chido Obi-Martin, has hit the back pages again following a magnificent hat-trick fresh off his move from Arsenal last summer.

Obi-Martin failed to agree terms with Arsenal and sanctioned a move to Manchester United that has seen him feature regularly for their Under-18s.

“Very happy to sign with this amazing club, time to focus and achieve all my dreams. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far.” – Chido Obi-Martin

Obi-Martin came into the limelight after his incredible goalscoring feat against Liverpool, where the forward, while playing for Arsenal, scored 10 goals, yes, 10 goals in the 14-3 win over Liverpool. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the Danish striker scored seven goals in Arsenal’s 9-0 win over Norwich.

Obi-Martin scored 36 goals in 24 games for the Arsenal Under-18s, so you can understand the dismay of Arsenal fans when he chose to leave Arsenal for Manchester United. In his full debut for the Red Devils’ youth team, he netted a hat-trick. Pretty much standard stuff for the young forward.

If Obi-Martin had stayed at Arsenal, he might have featured with the other youngsters that smashed five goals past Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup. Instead, he’s smashing hat-tricks for the old enemy. His first goal against Nottingham Forest Under-18s was in the first minute of the contest and after six minutes he completed his brace. His hat-trick came less than quarter of an hour, as Manchester United Under-18s ran out as 6-0 winners.

The youngster also has an amazing record at international level, scoring 12 goals in 19 games for the Denmark Under-21s. I’m hoping he’d get poached by Nigeria in the foreseeable future, as his parents are Nigerian, but the chances are slim to none, because Denmark would want to utilize his services.
