Arsenal has been tipped to make a plethora of transfers in the January window this winter, but there haven’t been much discussions around potential departures.
With the club challenging for the Premier League title, Mikel Arteta needs players that will contribute to the cause with their quality.
Unfortunately, there have been a couple of players that haven’t been up to scratch in recent months and it only makes sense to put them up for sale this January to recoup money for them and reinvest elsewhere.
Arsenal looking to sell Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney
I recall the huge elation from the Arsenal faithful when the club signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City two seasons ago. The club captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had departed and the vice captain, Alexander Lacazette, moved on as well, so there was a major void to fill in center forward and Jesus seemed to be that man.
Gabriel Jesus started his Arsenal career well and fit the team like a glove but he suffered a huge knee injury while representing Brazil in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and spent five months out of action. Since his return, Gabriel Jesus has been a shadow of himself and has since lost his place to Kai Havertz.
Oleksandr Zinchenko came into the gray following the failed pursuit for Lisandro Martinez and he revolutionized Arsenal’s attacking play with his inverting and was a nailed on option.
However, Zinchenko continued to suffer niggling injuries and his defending left a lot to be desired. Arsenal has since acquired the services of Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori that are currently ahead of the Ukrainian in the pecking order.
One player that has totally been forgotten is Kieran Tierney. The Scots man is still a respected figure in the club but he has not played for Arsenal for a long while. A loan move to Real Sociedad was sanctioned last season, but he didn’t enjoy that spell due to his consistent injury layoffs.
Selling Gabriel Jesus, Zinchenko and Tierney will be highly welcome, and we will monitor the situation to see how thay
