Arsenal 1-1 Man Utd (3-5 on penalties): Player Ratings

Following the disastrous result against Newcastle, Arsenal needed to step up against Manchester United but sadly crashed out on penalties.

Without further ado, here are the player ratings.

Defense

David Raya – Made a good save to spare Partey’s blushes late on but his performance in the penalty shootout was questionable. (6)

Jurrien Timber – Didn’t offer much from an attacking perspective and had a hamstring concern. (6)

William Saliba – Received a bloodied mouth from a whack from Rasmus Hojlund and did okay. (7)

Gabriel – Made a terrible mistake for the goal Arsenal conceded but made up with a goal on the other end. (7)

Myles Lewis-Skelly – Put up a decent display from the left hand side of the defense. (7)

Midfield

Jorginho – Made some good passes in the final third. (7)

Mikel Merino – Setup a great chance for Havertz and was replaced by Rice. (6)

Martin Odegaard – Was at his creative best for his teammates but he should have buried the penalty to grant his team the victory. (6)

Forwards

Gabriel Martinelli – Another weak attacking display with no end product. (6)

Gabriel Jesus – Suffered a precarious knee injury that might sideline him for a long time. (6)

Kai Havertz – Put up one of his worst performances in an Arsenal jersey. (3)

Substitutes

Raheem Sterling – Was very energetic with the ball, but there was no meaningful end product. (6)

Declan Rice – Had a big chance from an Odegaard cross and should have done better with that header. (6)

Leandro Trossard – Didn’t offer much from the bench. Should have done better to tap in Havertz’s cut back. (6)

Thomas Partey – Almost cost his team a goal with his carelessness. (5)

Kieran Tierney – Didn’t play enough to get a rating. (N/A)
