According to Sky Sports, Premier League outfit, Aston Villa, has rejected an offer from Arsenal for their star forward, Ollie Watkins.
It is believed that Arsenal’s offer for the 29-year-old was about 60 million pounds, which was deemed unacceptable by Unai Emery’s side. The Gunner had been linked with a move to another Aston Villa forward in the form of Jhon Duran, but no formal offer has been made. However, it will be difficult for Aston Villa to let Watkins go, especially with the updated news that Duran is set to leave for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Watkins has been in decent form this season, with 10 goals in 23 games, but he has struggled for consistent minutes this campaign, sharing them regularly with Duran, but the Colombian set to depart, he will be nailed on, like how he was last season.
The 29-year-old has five goals in 18 games for England, including the winner in last season’s Euro 2024 semi-final victory against the Netherlands.
