Jurrien Timber Confirmed Fit To Start As Arsenal Prepare For Champions League Final Against PSG

Mikel Arteta has provided a positive injury update on his Arsenal squad ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final in Budapest.

Arsenal face reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Puskas Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm on Saturday evening.

A victory for the Gunners would complete an extraordinary season that has already delivered significant silverware for the club.

Arteta’s side celebrated winning the Premier League title and collected the trophy at Selhurst Park just last weekend.

The squad have since travelled to Hungary and are in the final stages of their preparations for the showpiece occasion.

Jurrien Timber, who had been carrying a groin concern, has been confirmed fit to start the final by Arteta in his pre-match press conference.

The full-back had made the journey to Budapest with the rest of the Arsenal squad, which had raised hopes he would be available to play.

Goalkeeper David Raya missed the final Premier League match of the season against Crystal Palace with a back, glute and shoulder injury, but is expected to be available for the final.

Winger Noni Madueke picked up a hamstring issue on the final day of the season against Palace, though Arteta confirmed at his PSG press conference that the England international is fine.

Ben White suffered a significant knee injury in the win over West Ham United, which brought a premature end to his season entirely.

Arteta offered a sobering assessment of White’s condition, saying: “We’ll have to wait and see. It looks like a long-term injury, so at the moment, the focus is on when we can have him back available for Arsenal. And that’s not going to happen for many, many weeks.”
