Son Heung-Min Nets Brace In Three Minutes To Fire MLS All-Stars Past Liga MX Rivals

Son Heung-min delivered a stunning two-goal burst to help the MLS All-Stars defeat the Liga MX All-Stars 4-3 in a thrilling All-Star Game encounter.

The Los Angeles FC forward struck twice in just three minutes during the first half, turning the game on its head after the MLS side had fallen behind early.

Son opened his account in the 20th minute before adding a second just three minutes later in the 23rd minute to swing the momentum firmly in the MLS All-Stars’ favour.

Both goals came courtesy of assists from Carles Gil, who proved the creative force behind Son’s remarkable double in a breathless opening period.

The Liga MX All-Stars had taken the lead through Luis Gabriel Rey before Son’s rapid-fire response completely changed the complexion of the contest.

Son marked both goals with his now-iconic “camera” celebration, mimicking holding an old-fashioned camera, framing the shot with his fingers and pretending to snap a picture.

The South Korean superstar’s contributions were recognised by officials as he was named the Most Valuable Player of the All-Star Game following his decisive performance.

The 34-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur star has endured a difficult personal period, having shouldered blame for South Korea’s failure to reach the knockout rounds of the World Cup.

However, Son has responded emphatically since MLS resumed following its World Cup break, scoring three goals in three matches for his LAFC club side.

His brace in the All-Star Game only adds to the growing sense that Son has rediscovered the electric form that made him one of world football’s most feared attackers.

The result was a fine advertisement for MLS as the league continues to attract and showcase some of the game’s biggest global names on American soil.

Son’s performance will give LAFC fans plenty of confidence heading into the remainder of the MLS season as their marquee signing continues to fire on all cylinders.
