Tottenham Close In On Omar Marmoush Signing As Sky Sports Journalist Drops Advanced Talks Update

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal to sign Omar Marmoush from Manchester City as manager Roberto De Zerbi rebuilds his attack.

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has shared a significant transfer update, revealing that negotiations between Spurs and City have reached an advanced stage.

Thomas posted on X that talks between the two Premier League clubs are progressing well and that an agreement is now very close to being finalised.

The potential move for Marmoush follows reports that Tottenham have already reached an agreement to sign Brazilian winger Savinho from the Etihad Stadium.

That development raises the prospect of Spurs completing a stunning double raid on Manchester City worth a combined £140 million.

Thomas highlighted a key concern for City manager Enzo Maresca, who confirmed that Jérémy Doku is currently sidelined with an injury.

With Savinho already heading to North London and Doku unavailable, allowing Marmoush to leave as well would leave City alarmingly short of attacking options.

Marmoush joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt for £60 million but has frequently been deployed out of position on the wing or played second fiddle to Erling Haaland.

The Egyptian forward is eager to return to a central striking role, where he registered an impressive 37 goals in 67 appearances during his time in Germany.

That goalscoring record underlines exactly what Tottenham would be acquiring in Marmoush, a dynamic and clinical finisher capable of leading the line effectively.

Paired alongside Savinho’s explosive pace and direct running, De Zerbi would possess one of the most exciting and well-balanced attacking units in the Premier League.

The combination of pace, versatility, and proven goalscoring ability would give Spurs genuine firepower to compete for major honours this season.

Tottenham’s willingness to invest heavily in attacking talent signals a clear statement of intent from the club under De Zerbi’s ambitious leadership.

If both deals are completed, this summer would mark a transformative moment for Spurs as they look to establish themselves as genuine contenders at the highest level.
