Bournemouth Preview: All You Can Do is Win

A quick one from me as I have plans to attend my close friend’s daughter’s baptism this morning. He was my best man when I got wedded in 2017, and I was his best man when he married in 2019, so yeah, it’s a special day.

Another special event happening today is Arsenal hosting Bournemouth in the Saturday lunch time Fixture. The last time Bournemouth visited the Emirates, it was a topsy turvy affair with Philip Billing scoring from the very first attack of the game. Marcos Senesi made it 2-0 and it looked like Arsenal weren’t going to get something out of the game. Thomas Partey stepped up with a lifeline and Ben White grabbed the much needed equalizer before Reiss Nelson sent the Arsenal stratosphere to delirium with that last gasp winner.

Arsenal has still sustained their title challenge into the new campaign, and they know that a win against Bournemouth will send them four points clear of Manchester City ahead of their game with Wolverhampton Wanderers later in the game week. At this point, all Arsenal can do is win their games and hope for their Premier League title rivals, Manchester City, to slip up.

To team news, I would expect the same starting XI that has been killing it in recent weeks to retain their places, as there is no justifiable reason to bench any of them. Each player has been hugely influential in their position and should earn the right to retain their places. The only positions with the potential for changes are on the left hand side, with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, Takehiro Tomiyasu and even a fit again Jurrien Timber available for selection. On the left flank, Leandro Trossard has been getting the vital minutes ahead of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus and he has also been on the scoring act too, which should bode well for him.

Here’s to three valuable points.

Sayonara.
