Atalanta are unlikely to consider any offers for Arsenal-linked winger Ademola Lookman in the January transfer window.
Lookman is looking in good form and scored once and assisted another goal in Atalanta’s 3-2 home win over Fiorentina over the weekend.
It was his first appearance in Serie A this season as he missed the first three games of the campaign due to question marks over his future at the club.
Lookman decided against risking any injury in August by taking himself out of the team and several clubs were interested in signing him.
The winger will look to terrorize the Arsenal defence on Thursday night when Atalanta take on the Gunners in the first Champions League game.
However, Ademola could easily have been lining up for Arsenal in the game given their interest in the player in the last transfer window.
Atalanta won’t entertain offers for the Arsenal target in January
The Gunners considered getting their hands on the winger during the last transfer window but he eventually stayed at Atalanta.
Paris Saint-Germain also tried to sign him but they never went close to matching Atalanta’s €50m to €55m asking price for the player.
If Lookman continues to perform at his current level, clubs such as Arsenal are expected to try and sign him in the January transfer window.
However, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Atalanta are adamant about not wanting to sell the winger in the middle of the season and will keep hold of him until at least next summer.
The Italian club will only consider offers for Lookman again at the end of the season and will hope his value continues to rise.
Arsenal will hope that their defenders keep the winger quiet when they face Atalanta at their renovated new stadium on Thursday night.
Atalanta will look to make it a memorable evening and will look towards Lookman to light up the Gewiss Stadium this week.
