Manchester City Preview: Another Huge Test

This was one of the most anticipated clashes of the Premier League campaign, with the defending champions, Manchester City, hosting their perennial title challengers, Arsenal. It’s fair to say that in recent campaigns, the gap between both sides is closing rapidly. Hell, the Premier League was settled on the final day last season.

You can’t talk about Manchester City without mentioning the imperial form of the world’s most lethal finisher, Erling Haaland. The Norwegian cyborg has scored nine goals already this season, and played a pivotal run in their late run that saw them win every game required to secure their fourth Premier League title in a row. Manchester City have their 100 percent record intact, winning their last 13 Premier League games consecutively, as well as going 27 games unbeaten in the competition.

Last season, Arsenal didn’t lose to Manchester City, drawing the clash at the Etihad and winning the fixture at the Emirates with a late goal from Gabriel Martinelli. We have made some bold predictions for this game and will be hopeful they are actualized.

Manchester City and Arsenal Team News

To team news, Manchester City will definitely be without Oscar Bobb, that suffered a fractured leg just before the start of the new campaign, and Nathan Ake, who like Martin Odegaard, was a casualty in the international break. Manchester City is sweating over the fitness of Kevin de Bruyne, that suffered a groin injury in the Champions League clash against Internazionale. There are no fresh injury concerns for Arsenal, with the regular absentees, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard, still unavailable for selection.
