Arsenal have made it clear that they are not prepared to sell defender William Saliba at any price amidst serious interest from Real Madrid for a move next summer.

Saliba has emerged as one of the best defenders in the world over the last couple of years and was the lynchpin of the Arsenal team that had the meanest defence in the Premier League last season.

The defender believes he needs to win trophies to be termed one of the best in the world but many already consider him as one of the top centre-backs in football.

Real Madrid have identified him as one of their top targets but are also aware that it could be tough to snare him away from Arsenal next summer.

The European giants are still expected to try and convince the defender to move to Spain especially if Arsenal go one more season without adding any silverware.

However, according to Football Transfers, Arsenal are prepared to dig in and hold on to the Frenchman despite interest from Real Madrid.

Arsenal hang ‘not for sale’ tag on William Saliba

The Gunners are very much aware that they have one of the centre-backs in the world in their team and are not interested in selling him.

Arsenal are claimed to be ready to reject all offers and are clear about not wanting to sell the Frenchman at any price.

Real Madrid are said to be prepared to offer a player to Arsenal to sweeten the deal but it seems the Gunners have shut the door on the possibility of selling Saliba.

The north London club want to send a strong message across Europe by holding on to Saliba despite interest from one of the biggest clubs in the world – Real Madrid.

The Gunners are, in fact, preparing to sit down with Saliba and his representatives next year and hold talks over a new and improved contract for him.

However, a failure to win trophies could still convince the Frenchman to seek greener pastures given his determination to be recognised as the best defender in the world.
