Arsenal midfield target Florian Wirtz is likely to be available for a fee of €100m next summer if he decides to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old midfielder is wanted at some of the biggest clubs in Europe but Leverkusen managed to hold on to the player in the last transfer window.
There is still no guarantee that he will leave next summer and could be convinced to stay one more year at the club beyond the end of the ongoing season.
However, there is a beeline of clubs who are keen to sign him with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City interested in getting their hands on the attacking midfielder.
Arsenal are also very much involved in the race for Wirtz and they do believe that the club have the financial muscle and sporting project to attract Wirtz to the Emirates.
The asking price for the Arsenal target is likely to be around €100m
Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro recently claimed that it could take around €150m to snare the midfielder away from the German champions next year.
However, the reality is likely to be slightly different as according to Munich-based daily Abendzeitung, his price is expected to be around the €100m mark.
At least, that is the figure Bayern Munich are working with as they prepare to launch an assault for Wirtz in the next summer transfer window.
The midfielder has recently claimed that he does not want to think about a transfer at the moment and is trying to focus on Leverkusen’s season going forward.
However, the transfer poke is underway behind the scenes as his suitors lay down plans to try and sell a move to the player.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League in over 20 years and their last trophy was the FA Cup in 2020.
However, the Gunners believe they have it in them to convince Wirtz to move to the Emirates if he leaves Leverkusen next summer.
