Arsenal have been in desperate need of attacking depth over the past two seasons.
Since becoming title contenders under Mikel Arteta, the need to add quality in attack has been increased.
Last season, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz had to carry the goalscoring burden in the league for Arsenal. Havertz ended the season with 13 goals while Saka scored 16 goals. Aside Leandro Trossard, who had 12 goals, the other attackers barely contributed.
Trossard has said that he does not mind being on the bench for Arsenal as long as he can impact games:
“I try to change the game, be impactful and help the team to score goals, to get it over the line and get the three points,” he said.
“I always try to follow the game. It’s a bit different in the first half and the second half because players get tired, but I try to watch it and see where weaknesses are and try to exploit them when I come on.”

Football Insider reports that due to the recent injury issues at the club, Arsenal are monitoring Bryan Mbuemo.
The Brentford forward has scored eight Premier League goals this season, he is second in the league behind Erling Haaland. Since Ivan Toney left the club, the Cameroon international has carried the goalscoring burden.
Last season, Mbuemo had nine goals and six assists. With Martin Odegaard set to be out for another month, and Gabriel Jesus out of form, a move for another attacking player is on the cards.
Gabriel Jesus’ status at the club is not certain, he had a bid rejected from a top club this summer.
Brentford boss praises star forward
After last weekend’s comeback win over Ipswich, Brentford boss Thomas Frank had a lot of good things to say about Mbuemo:
“I hope they do that. How many goals is it now, eight in nine games? That’s hugely impressive from a winger in a team in the middle of the Premier League, that’s not normal.”
The forward scored two goals in the win over the newly promoted side.
Brentford would be reluctant to see Mbuemo leave, as they are also short on attacking options. Their big money signing this summer; Igor Thiago was injured in pre season.
