Arsenal returned to winning ways with the decimation of Nottingham Forest at the Emirates, but Mikel Arteta is believed to still harbor plans of bringing in new recruits in the January transfer window.
The Gunners have expectedly been linked with moves for many top targets, which includes Viktor Gyekeres from Sporting CP, but according to Football London, Arsenal is looking to make major moves in the transfer window, bringing on three players that will contribute immensely to their Premier League title challenge.
Arsenal plot moves for Arda Guler, Martin Zubimendi and Alexander Isak
Arsenal is heavily interested in signing Real Madrid’s wonderkid, Arda Guler on loan this January. The Turkish youngster is an exciting talent and will be a vital cog in the Arsenal machine, should he decide to sign for the club, but with Liverpool also interested in his services, we may be facing a bidding war for the attacking midfielder.
Arda Guler has found games hard to come by in Real Madrid and will be hoping for a permanent exit, as he believes he’s good enough to be a regular starter elsewhere. It is believed that he would cost up to 80 million Euros, so signing him for such a huge outlay will be a statement for the club. Guler’s presence will ease the creative burdens off Martin Odegaard, who Arsenal missed heavily following his unfortunate ankle injury in August.
It has also been reported that Arsenal has offered £101 million to Newcastle for their star player, Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker has been a standout since his arrival from Real Sociedad a couple of seasons ago. Last season, despite his injury struggles, Isak scored 21 goals in 27 starts for Newcastle and this campaign, he has scored four goals in eight games.
Isak has started the new season in supreme form, picking up where he left off in the last campaign.
Finally, Arsenal is gearing up a move for Real Sociedad’s defensive colossus, Martin Zubimendi. Zubimendi is one of the best deep-lying playmakers in world football and with Jorginho at the September of his career and Partey potentially leaving, the Gunners will be desperately short in midfield.
Albert Sambi Lokonga is currently on loan at Sevilla and is unlikely to return, so the Gunners will need major reinforcements to bolster their options and having a player like Zubimendi would be a huge plus for Mikel Arteta and his team.
