The Premier League is back with a bang but Arsene Wenger and his men will have to wait till tomorrow to take on Swansea in the Liberty Stadium.
So much fuss has been made about Tottenham Hotspurs resurgence this season but Arsene Wenger has said that he’s not concerned about Twitchy Ol’ Harry and his goons. Wilshere said that the Premier League is a marathon not a sprint so I’ll rest my case on this issue.
Tottenham is certainly playing at the top of their game right now, but is it worth making much noise over? In the past 15 years Arsenal finished above them, I can’t remember anytime Tottenham fans uttered any word. Oh well.
Like Tottenham, the media Vultures are always in their best publishing form during transfer periods and this January has been no different. Transfer Betting reported that Arsene Wenger has hinted over making a new signing this January while Footy Bible published that Arsenal is preparing a £25m bid for Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain.
Caught Offside reported the biggest one of them all. The website revealed that Arsenal is set to complete a loan deal for Manchester City’s Wayne Bridge.
Wayne Bridge is in the twilight years of his career and there are certainly better full backs in the business than him. Arsene Wenger’s decision to go for the old hag suggests his strong belief in his present injured lot.
With Andre Santos out till Spring and Kieran Gibbs doing what he does best, Arsenal will have to make do with the Englishman that’s renowned for his own injury problems too.
After the demons of injury claimed Thomas Vermaelen and Francis Coquelin, Ignasi Miquel is presently holding the fort till they all arrive.
Wojciech Szczesny is a young confident lad that’s never afraid to utter a word or two without thinking of the ramifications.
Aaron Ramsey and a friend went off to have a good time in a golf course. The Wales captain took a shot with his buddy and uploaded the picture on Twitter using his verified account @aaronjramsey
While many Arsenal fans tweeted at Ramsey about his appearance, Szczesny had this to say:
@13Szczesny13: “I don’t wanna be rude mate but you look like a rapist on that picture”.
Ramsey replied in a very level-headed and mature manner:
@aaronjramsey: “I try my best mate we’re not all blessed with a good fashion sense like you”
Szczesny was probably cautioned by a few figure heads at the club and he has apologized for the derogatory tweet:
@13Szczesny13: “I’m sorry if anyone was offended by my tweets. There are some things we should not joke about and I have crossed the line. Sorry!”
I’m pretty sure they are back on cool terms after this row but Szczesny had some nerve to call his teammate a rapist though.
I hope some fixtures would favor Arsenal today.
