Brentford Preview: Pick Up the Pieces

Arsenal vs Brentford: How to watch live, stream link, team news

Brentford arrive at the Emirates Stadium against an Arsenal side that has endured a torrid time in the North West, losing to Manchester City in the FA Cup before suffering a defeat in the Premier League for the first time in 14 games against Satanball’s finest, Everton

Today’s visitors, Brentford, are certainly no pushovers, as they arrive in Arsenal’s home ground high in confidence following their comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton in the last gameweek. It seems like they will be heading to the game with Ivan Toney, who was in the spotlight a while ago for some betting charges, but it seems there haven’t been any further ramifications for their star striker.

When both sides met early in the season, Arsenal visited Brentford and smashed three past them with goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and the opening goal for Fabio Vieira. The Gunners have won their last seven London derby matches in the Premier League, with all seven games taking place this season. In those seven games, Arsenal has scored 16 and conceded only three. Brentford has also been in a rich vein of form, staying unbeaten in their last nine matches, with only Newcastle (16) having a longer run. However, their record away at Arsenal is really poor with just one win in seven games and you’d have to go all the way to 1938 for when last Brentford won against their opponents away from home.

Mikel Arteta did the usual in his press conference but he spent a while speaking about Flo Balogun that has been tearing things up in Ligue Un for Stade de Reims. The manager also spoke about the availability of his players, stating that Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith-Rowe are not ready for action, with Mo Elneny and Reiss Nelson remaining the long term absentees. Brentford’s gaffer, Thomas Frank, also spoke about his injury returnees, Frank Onyeka and Pontus Jansson, stating that they are still miles away from featuring in the first team. ub
