The Long Wait for Some Timber is Over

It’s been a while since I published a post on the blog, with Arsenal’s emphatic win against Burnley being the last post that was published. This absence was due to some exigences and I apologise.

In that hiatus, Arsenal struggled to impress against FC Porto in the Champions League and thrashed Newcastle emphatically, gaining some measure of revenge from the last time both sides met. The squad has really gelled and they are playing some orgasmic football.

However, squad depth is very important in the title challenge and we have been boosted with the confirmation that Jurrien Timber is back in full training.

The Dutch defender commenced his Arsenal career like a house on fire and marauded the inverted left back role with such panache and grit, so it was a huge shame to see him suffer a cruciate ligament injury on his debut against Nottingham Forest, that has sidelined him for several months.

In as much as I’m happy to see Timber back, I trust the club to manage his minutes well, especially with the back line of Jakub Kiwior, Gabriel, William Saliba and Ben White doing the business. We have Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu on the sidelines at the moment, but every player has a role in the course of the gruelling campaign that has seen Arsenal lock horns with Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League trophy.

Let’s hope Timber returns to full action soon and it will be nice to see some Thomas Partey too.

Sayonara.
