FC Porto Preview: All or Nothing

Since the warm weather training at Dubai, Arsenal has been on fire, winning eight Premier League games in a row, scoring with reckless abandon but the only bump in the road came at Estadio do Dragao against a FC Porto side that did very well to stifle what Arsenal came with and scored a very heart-wrenching late goal.

All roads lead to the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal host FC Porto in a very important game with a place in the quarterfinals up for grabs. Both teams are in good form leading to the game, but Arsenal had to smash and grab to get all three points against Brentford.

Arsenal will need to latch onto their experience with players like Jorginho and Gabriel Jesus bringing all their Champions League pedigree on an important night like this. The team selection will be interesting, with Arteta having a full squad to choose from with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey back in contention. Gabriel Martinelli is a doubt for the game and Leandro Trossard will be the ideal replacement, but with Kai Havertz in imperious form, I’d rather opt to play Gabriel Jesus on the left wing with Kai in the middle. I’d also bring on Jorginho to partner Declan Rice in the heart of the midfield, with Partey providing support when required.

It will be an awesome game and I hope the fans come in full force to support the lads in this all important clash.
