Gabriels on Form as Gunners Ease Past Manchester United

Arsenal - Manchester United - Match Report | Arsenal.com

This match between Arsenal and Manchester United took place by 1.00am this morning, so it was going to be difficult to watch with other things planned to do in the morning, but I made my peace with just watching the highlights and I trusted the YouTube chums to do their thing.

Arsenal almost drew first blood when Gabriel Jesus made mince meat of Harry Maguire with a goal to aim at but the Manchester United defense did well to quell the attack. On the other end of the pitch, Marcus Rashford fired the first shot on goal after receiving a pass from Mason Mount but his effort was rather tame. Ethan Nwaneri was the next player to join the highlight reel when he got in behind the Manchester United defense to fire a curler that was saved by Andre Onana. However, it was offside.

Manchester United got the lead when Rasmus Hojlund showed good pace to evade Ayden Heaven and poke the ball through Karl Hein’s legs. Hojlund almost doubled his effort when he latched onto to Aaron Wan Bissaka’s cut back over the bar. Arsenal got the equalizer in rather fictitious circumstances when Nwaneri, who looked offside, received the ball from Leandro Trossard before teeing up Gabriel Jesus for an easy tap in.

Like a tough boxing match, both sides traded blows, with Mount firing a shot that was saved, followed by Trossard smashing one that was saved magnificently by Onana. Late on, Gabriel Martinelli got the ball from the left, made a slalom run and side-footed the ball past Onana. It was a good runout for both sides and Arsenal make plans to play another tough fixture against Liverpool.

Sayonara.
