Eddie Nketiah Set for Crystal Palace Medical

Eddie Nketiah transfer latest amid Crystal Palace hope and Arsenal to Nottingham Forest collapse - football.london

The transfer window is indeed, very dynamic.

Eddie Nketiah’s time at Arsenal was certainly done this summer, as the young Englishman man and his representatives actively sought a move out of Arsenal, with a protracted move to Olympique Marseille breaking down in the last minute, when it seemed like all was good to go. The French side went on to sign Elye Wahi from Montpellier and that ship sailed.

Nottingham Forest was next in line to seek a move for Nketiah and an agreement of £30 million was agreed with Arsenal and a green light was given for Nottingham Forest to finalize proceedings with the forward, but Nottingham Forest pulled the plug after they failed to agree personal terms with Nketiah.

In rather swift fashion, Crystal Palace has made a bid of £30 million for his services, Arsenal was expected to accept, as it met their valuation for the player and accordingly to renowned transfer window guru, David Ornstein, of The Athletic, Arsenal has granted their permission for Nketiah to make the short trip across the capital to undergo his medical with Crystal Palace ahead of the move.

This would see Arsenal and Nketiah end their adventure after eight years, 168 appearances for the club and 38 goals. Nketiah leaves Arsenal with three honors – one FA Cup victory in the 2019/20 campaign, and two Community Shield triumphs in 2020 and 2023.

Nketiah is set to battle with Jean Phillippe Mateta for the starting spot in Crystal Palace’s attack, and with Odsonne Édouard set to leave the club before the window closes, Nketiah will get a lot of game time at his new club. The best part of his move to Crystal Palace is that he will not be relocating with his family, which probably played a role in his decision not to move to Nottingham Forest instead.

Thanks for the memories, Eddie.
