Arsenal are clearly on the hunt for a new attacker and according to TBR, the Gunners have set their sights on a former Manchester City winger, Ferran Torres.
The Spanish winger is part of a huge shortlist for Arsenal Sporting Director, Edu Gaspar, and his negotiation team, as Arsenal has also been linked with moves for Bournemouth ace, Antoine Semenyo, as well as a potential Premier League transfer record move for Nico Williams. With Arsenal’s first choice wingers, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, having their fair share of battles with injury this season, one would understand the urgency to find quality players that will provide competition for places and depth in the squad.
Ferran Torres, 24, has struggled to make an impact this season with Barcelona, with head coach, Hansi-Dieter Flick, preferring the winger combination of Raphinha and the generational talent, Lamine Yamal, to provide attacking support for the mercurial Robert Lewandowski. The former Manchester City winger has managed only one goal this season, which came in the 7-0 demolition of Real Valladolid early in the campaign. It wasn’t a nice ordeal for Arsenal’s goalie on loan to Valladolid, Karl Hein, as he was on the end of some thumping on the night.
Potential reunion with Mikel Arteta?

Ferran Torres is very familiar with Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta, from their time spent together at Manchester City. Torres scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 63 games for the Cityzen’s, and this included a brace in the 5-0 demolition of Arsenal three years ago. If my memory serves me right, that results rooted Arsenal to the bottom of the Premier League, and also signaled the end of Bernd Leno’s career with the club, as he was relegated to the bench for Aaron Ramsdale.
Torres will be a quality signing for Arsenal as he’s an experienced Premier League player and will require little or no adaptation time like most of the new recruits from the rest of the globe.
