Arsenal has been touted with making a couple of moves for Premier League forwards in the January transfer window with Mikel Arteta’s side linked with moves for Antoine Semenyo and a monster big money move for Alexander Isak.
These players have started the campaign well and have scored vital goals, with Semenyo opening the scoring for Bournemouth against Manchester City, while Isak scored a thumping header that proved to be the match winner in Newcastle’s narrow win over Arsenal. With Arsenal’s center forward, Gabriel Jesus, struggling to score goals with only one strike in his last 25 games, Arsenal is rightly looking for more firepower to aid their dwindling title challenge this season.
In my honest opinion, Arsenal made a mistake not to sign a center forward last summer, having so much reliance on Kai Havertz and despite his good goalscoring form this season, Arsenal still lacks that much-needed cutting edge in attack, especially in games where that quality would have been a standout out option.
Arsenal tipped to sign West Ham’s talismanic winger
According to The Mirror, Arsenal is odds on to make a huge move for West Ham’s Ghanaian winger, Muhammed Kudus. Kudus will be a better backup to Bukayo Saka then Raheem Sterling, and he can also play as a center forward and attacking midfielder – the kind of versatility Mikel Arteta appreciates.
He joined West Ham after a successful spell at Ajax Amsterdam and a strong showing for Ghana in the last World Cup gave him some good spotlight. Kudus’ might struggle to maintain a first team berth at Arsenal but he will provide good competition for places at Arsenal.
