Arsenal have given the green light for Leandro Trossard to leave the club this summer, with Turkish side Besiktas the most likely destination for the Belgian winger.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Gunners have already authorised the move, with the decision now resting firmly with the player himself.
Romano posted on X: “Besiktas remain locked in talks with Leandro Trossard’s camp to sort details and try to get the player’s final green light to the move. Arsenal have already authorized travel and medical. Up to Leandro.”
The 31-year-old has been a reliable and versatile presence in Mikel Arteta’s squad since making the move to north London from Brighton.
Trossard played a key role in Arsenal’s Premier League title win last season, contributing to one of the most celebrated campaigns in the club’s recent history.
However, with the Belgian now in the later stages of his career, Arsenal appear to have decided that now is the right time to move him on and refresh the attacking options available to Arteta.
An agreement has reportedly been reached between Arsenal and Besiktas, leaving Trossard himself as the final piece in the puzzle before the deal can be confirmed.
The Turkish top flight could represent an appealing destination for Trossard, offering him the regular first-team football that his status as an experienced attacker demands at this point in his career.
His role at Arsenal had gradually shifted toward that of a squad player, and the prospect of more consistent minutes in a new league could prove a significant pull for the forward.
Trossard has already demonstrated his quality at the highest level of English football, and a move to Turkey would give him the platform to remain a prominent figure in European football beyond the Premier League.
Arsenal will now be focused on sourcing a replacement capable of filling the void left by a player who offered versatility across multiple attacking positions throughout his time at the club.
The Gunners need a dynamic attacker who can both score goals and create opportunities, and identifying the right profile will be a key priority for the club’s recruitment team this summer.
